Aston Villa target John Terry is not wanted by Manchester United, according to a report from the MEN.
There had been tentative speculation linking the 37-year-old with a shock reunion with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, but these claims have since been refuted.
Terry played for Villa for the duration of last season and established himself as a key man for Steve Bruce’s side, captaining them on several occasions throughout.

However, following his contract’s expiration at Villa Park, Terry has not yet found a new club to play his football at this season, meaning that a return to the Championship side has emerged as a possibility once again.
Sporting CP were believed to have been a potential destination for Terry but following a presidency application withdrawal from Madeira Rodrigues, a transfer now looks unlikely.
With Aston Villa’s financial situation now less precarious, they could be keen to revisit their pursuit of Terry following the news that United and Sporting are seemingly not in the race for his signature.
