Aston Villa loan report: Mitchell Clark (Port Vale)
Aston Villa defender Mitchell Clark has earned plenty of praise in League Two this past weekend for his performances while on loan at Port Vale.
The 19-year-old, who joined Port Vale on loan has almost become the first name on manager Neil Aspin’s team sheet in League Two, despite only joining in the summer transfer window.
Clark, a right-back by trade has made six appearances so far, both at his preferred right-back position and as a makeshift left-back. Despite being played out of position at times he has still impressed for Aspin’s side looking impressive in their latest 2-0 win over Northampton Town as the side climbed the table currently sitting in 16th.
The young defender, who has been part of Aston Villa’s youth setup since 2006, has drawn praise for his performances at Vale Park with many fans taking to social media to highlight how good the youngster has been.

Should his good performances continue Steve Bruce may have no choice but to address the Welsh Under-21 international’s good form and possibly look into making the youngster a part of his first-team plans for the next campaign.
With Ahmed Elmohamady now 31-years-old, Axel Tuanzebe only on loan at Villa Park and Ritchie De Laet out of Bruce’s first-team plans after being shipped off on loan to Melbourne City a starting spot at right-back may not be too far away for the youngster should his form continue.
