Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce says he doesn’t feel any additional pressure ahead of this weekend’s game against Bristol City, despite the club’s poor run of results.
The Villans have won just once in seven Championship games, which has inevitably led to Bruce’s position coming under serious scrutiny from large sections of Villa’s fanbase.
While some feel that his position with the club has become untenable, especially given how much he has invested in the transfer market since replacing Roberto Di Matteo in late 2016, the man himself is still confident in his ability to return Villa to their former Premier League glory.

With rumour suggesting Bruce could be axed should he lose at Ashton Gate on Friday, as quoted by Express & Star, Bruce had this to say on whether he was experiencing any additional nerves:
No. It’s another game. I cannot influence anything else. I am focused on the game.
Can we get a result? I am convinced we can. Hopefully we can then go into Tuesday, get two results and hopefully then people will be saying what is all the nonsense about?
Following the summer takeover from new co-owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, Bruce was trusted to maintain his position as head coach.
However, Bruce admitted yesterday that he hasn’t held talks with the owners over his position at the club in quite some time. He continued:
I have been in it a long, long time. Pressure is part and parcel of it. Tell me an Aston Villa manager who hasn’t had it?
I’m quietly convinced that we’ve got the nucleus of a good squad but the time comes when you need a result.
We go to Bristol City and then host Preston, we could be in a better position by next Wednesday.
Whoever is sitting here, you have to get results. They haven’t been good enough.
We have to find a way of winning games.
