Villa have dismissed the 57-year-old with the club having won just one of their last 10 games in all competitions.
In a dramatic 3-3 draw with Preston at Villa Park on Tuesday evening, fans chanted ‘Brucie out’, with one supporter even throwing a cabbage at the Villa boss before kick-off.
Villa threw away a two goal lead in the 3-3 draw and missed a stoppage time penalty which would have seen them secure all three points.
Villa currently sit 12th in the Championship table.
