According to the Daily Mail, Thierry Henry has won the race to become the new manager of Aston Villa, and will name John Terry as his number two.
Reports suggest both Henry and Terry, who have made over 1,100 top flight appearances between them as players, were interviewed for the senior role, however, Villa officials have decided to give the Frenchman the nod purely on his coaching experience.

The former Arsenal striker has enjoyed a successful stint working under Roberto Martinez with the Belgian nation team, and was part of their coaching staff during the World Cup.
Terry on the other hand, featured heavily for Villa last season as a player under former manager Steve Bruce, before leaving the club in the summer after a play-off final defeat to Fulham.
If the high profile duo are in fact named manager and assistant manager respectively, the former internationals will have a lot of work to do, with Villa currently occupying 15th place in the Championship after a 2-1 defeat at Millwall on Saturday, leaving them eight points off the top three.
