John Terry will be faced with competition from former Chelsea and Manchester United assistant manager Rui Faria as the race for the managerial post at Aston Villa heats up, according to a report from the Mirror.
With Thierry Henry believed to be closing in on a move to AS Monaco following the news that Leonardo Jardim is set to depart the Ligue 1 giants, Villa have been forced to explore other alternatives.

It’s reported by the Mirror that Terry has emerged as the favourite for the job at Villa Park. However, it is also claimed that Faria, along with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, is an option under consideration.
Villa’s players will be well aware of the footballing intelligence that Terry possesses following his tenure at the club last season as a player.
However, he is clearly not the only man in the frame for the job at Villa Park, with Faria emerging as a potential option for the club’s hierarchy to ponder.
