Dean Smith has revealed he left Yannick Bolasie at home as his side lost 2-1 to Norwich on Tuesday evening.
The winger absent for the trip to Norfolk, with the Canaries pulling back to beat Villa 2-1 at Carrow Road.

Speaking after the game, new Villa boss Dean Smith revealed he was resting the winger ahead of Villa’s clash with Queens Park Rangers on Friday.
Smith said, via the Birmingham Mail:
I felt Yannick could do some strength work back at the training ground and get himself ready for Friday.
Villa took a first half lead at Carrow Road, with James Chester heading home from a corner.
However, Villa suffered two key blows, with Albert Adomah and Tammy Abraham both picking up knocks.
Minutes later, Jordan Rhodes netted an equaliser for Norwich, before netting a second with 15 minutes to go.
Dean Smith would suffer defeat in his first away trip with Villa, but will be looking to bounce back at QPR.
