Dean Smith has confirmed that Neil Taylor is back in training, and could be in contention to be selected for this weekend’s Second City derby.
Taylor had been taken off at half time against Derby with an injury, and had been considered a doubt for the game against Birmingham City.

However Dean Smith confirmed that the defender will be fit for the clash, telling the club’s official website:
Taylor will be back training with us today. He’ll be available for selection as long as he gets through the next few days.
The Welshman had been forced to withdraw from the Wales national squad due to the injury, but looks okay to play this weekend.
Villa will be looking to continue their good run of form, and secure yet another victory over their cross City rivals to keep their good run in this fixture going.
With James Chester a doubt for the clash, Dean Smith will be happy that he will not have to worry about Taylor.
