Aston Villa are considering making a move for England legend Ashley Cole in January, according to the Mirror.
The 37-year-old has been released by LA Galaxy, bringing an end to his two-year spell in the MLS.
Cole is not yet ready to retire, however, unlike former Chelsea teammates Frank Lampard, John Terry and Joe Cole, all of whom have recently hung up their boots.
There have reportedly been numerous offers from clubs in the Championship, with Villa thought to be one of them.

The lure of linking up again with Terry could be a key part of Cole’s final decision, with the ex-England captain now manager Dean Smith’s assistant.
Whether or not Cole has the legs to be a success in the Championship remains to be seen, but it would still be a signing of intent.
He is arguably the greatest English left-back of all time and for a spell in the 2000s there was no better player in his position in world football.
Cole would bring with him a winning mentality – something that could prove priceless in Villa’s quest to earn promotion back to the Premier League.
