Aston Villa have set their sights on Nantes winger Sada Thioub and Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria, according to an exclusive report from French news outlet Le10 Sport.
Dean Smith’s side are believed to have established an interest in the pair but have yet to make respective formal offers.
Thioub has performed well for Nantes this season and has contributed to the team’s impressive form in front of goal in Ligue 1.

Santamaria, meanwhile, has been catching the eye of many with some strong performances in the middle of the park for Angers.
It’s reported by Le10 Sport that the Championship club have been closely monitoring the progress of both players as they continue to identify potential transfer targets.
Thioub is a vital player for Nantes and it seems unlikely that they would sanction his sale in January. A similar issue could arise in Villa’s apparent pursuit of Santamaria, who has been a standout performer for Angers this term.
The report does not specify whether or not the promotion-chasers are ready to swoop for the pair in January, but it seems they are watching on intently as they continue to impress in Ligue 1.
