Newcastle are eyeing up the permanent signing of Tammy Abraham, according to The Northern Echo.
The young Chelsea striker is thriving at Aston Villa this season, scoring 12 goals in 16 appearances.
There are rumours that the Blues may be willing to sell Abraham in January, however, which would be a big blow to Villa’s promotion hopes.
Crystal Palace are one Premier League club to have been linked with the 21-year-old and now Newcastle are getting in on the act.

Rafa Benitez reportedly sees him as an exciting option to come in and add firepower in the final third, as the Magpies look to remain in the top flight.
Abraham has a recall clause in his contract that means he could return to Chelsea and then be sold next month.
Maurizio Sarri does not view the young striker as part of his plans moving forward, only adding to the speculation surrounding his short-term future.
Newcastle almost signed Abraham 18 months ago but a moved never came to fruition.
A return to the Premier League is likely to suit the Villa favourite, but Dean Smith will be hoping Chelsea hold off on their plans until at least the summer.
