Brentford striker Neal Maupay has refused to deny rumours he could be on his way to Aston Villa to reunite with former boss Dean Smith.
Speaking to the Independent, Maupay revealed that he would not rule out a switch to Villa Park, but equally that he is happy at Griffin Park.
Maupay has been in hot form this season for the Bees, despite Brentford struggling for results int he league.
The Frenchman has netted 15 times in the Championship so far this season, and has also racked up 6 assists for Brentford.

The striker told the independent:
I have a really, really good relationship with Dean. So obviously if one day he calls me and says ‘Neal, I need you in my team’ I would consider it. But at this moment I can’t be focused on other things than Brentford. Obviously, I really liked working for him, so if one day he wants to bring me to Villa or wherever I would listen to him because he has done a lot of good things for me.
Yes, I have a contract and I obviously want to finish the season. But you know, football is crazy. At this moment I say ‘I want to stay in Brentford’ but sometimes a few players say ‘I’m going to stay’, and then they leave the club. But me, I want to stay here and help Brentford and see how it goes.
Villa could be in the market for a striker, with rumours persisting that Tammy Abraham’s loan could be cut short, with Premier League clubs looking at the forward.
