Aston Villa forward Ross McCormack was spotted at Motherwell’s clash with Hamilton on the weekend, increasing speculation over a return to his former club, Birmingham Mail report.
The 32-year-old is back at Villa Park after a second spell in Australia’s A-League with Central Coast Mariners.
McCormack joined Villa back in 2016 from Fulham, however, the Scot has made just 22 appearances for his current employers, heading out on loan to Nottingham Forest, Melbourne City and Central Coast Mariners in recent years.

And with the striker seemingly nowhere near Dean Smith’s first-team plans, many have suggested the striker could leave the club again in the new year.
The speculation increased even more when the forward was spotted at New Douglas Park on Saturday to see Motherwell overcome Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.

McCormack scored 14 times in 57 appearances for Motherwell between 2006 and 2008 before making the switch to English football, and the experienced striker could well return to his native Scotland for the remainder of the season.
