Chelsea will not sell Aston Villa’s on-loan striker Tammy Abraham in January, according to Sky Sports.
Various reports suggesting otherwise had led to concern at Villa Park, with one of their star men potentially leaving midway through the season.
Wolves were keen to bring in Abraham permanently this month, but that bid has been rejected.
It is unquestionably good news for Villa boss Dean Smith, who values his young striker highly.
He has chipped in 16 goals in the Championship already this season, becoming an integral member of his promotion-chasing side.
Speaking after Villa’s 2-2 draw with QPR on New Year’s Day, Smith said all parties seemed content with the current situation:

Tammy has shown no inclination to go back to Chelsea.
In the conversations I’ve had with him he is enjoying himself at Villa and is developing as a player.
Chelsea seem very happy, as he is developing as a player and scoring goals in the Championship. For all three parties it is win, win, win.
So I would be amazed if anything happened to prevent him playing for Villa.
Abraham should be in action in the FA Cup third round this weekend, as the Villains host Swansea City on Saturday afternoon.
