According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are just one of a number of clubs who are hopeful of signing Britt Assombalonga from Middlesbrough before the tansfer window slams shut on Thursday evening.
The 26-year old, who is Boro’s record signing at £15 million, has fallen out of favour with Tony Pulis and has started just three league matches since November as Jordan Hugill is preferred in attack.

The Congolese international has proven that he can score goals in this league – he played 65 matches for Nottingham Forest and scored 30 goals.
It is believed that Middlesbrough are looking to get at least £10 million for him, so that they can at least recuperate a large majority of the fee that they paid for him two years ago.
It looks like he could have a tough decision where to play his football next as Bristol City, Brighton, and Crystal Palace are all supposedly keeping a close eye on his situation as well.
