Aston Villa are keen to complete a late deal for Swansea City midfielder Leroy Fer, according to claims from Laurie Whitwell of The Daily Mail.
The Dutchman sees his contract at the Liberty Stadium come to an end this summer and it seems Dean Smith’s side are pursuing a surprise deal for the player.
Graham Potter has utilised the 29-year-old on a somewhat sporadic basis throughout the campaign so far. Fer has started in 15 Championship fixtures and has come off the bench on nine occasions.

The former Norwich City star has found the back of the net on one occasion in the league this season and has also contributed with a further two assists.
Aston Villa have plenty of options in the middle of the park, but recent claims indicate that they are ‘very much pursuing’ the Swans’ towering midfielder as the January transfer window draws ever closer to its deadline later tonight.
