Aston Villa absolutely destroyed Derby last Saturday, and every single Villa fan will be hoping to see a similar scoreline this weekend as Dean Smith’s men take on fierce local rivals Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s.
Birmingham City, I think it is fair to say, have had a better season than many would have expected – they currently sit in 8th place, two points above Villa in 11th and just 4 points off of the play-off places.
However, to the delight of every true Villa fan, the Blues could find themselves just hovering above the Relegation Zone soon as there is a good chance that they will be deducted 12 points for breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
However, those of a claret and blue persuasion will put this to the back of their minds on Sunday, as the only thing that matters is getting all three points.
A win for Villa, coupled with some other favourable results, could see them move to within 3 points off a play-off place, which is something that a number of fans had started to give up on a few weeks ago.
