Much has been made of Aston Villa’s struggles this season and a lot of it can be pinned down to the issue at centre-back.
Villa have played far too many games this season with a makeshift defence, due to injuries and poor recruitment.
The club need to make amends in the summer and strengthen the options available to Dean Smith at the back.
