Aston Villa target Yoann Barbet has revealed he is in talks with Brentford to extend his deal at Griffin Park, the Birmingham Mail report, via football.london.
Barbet is highly thought of by former Bees boss Dean Smith, the defender has made over 100 appearances for the club following his move from Ligue 2 side Chamois Niortais over three years ago.
Smith was said to be interested in the Frenchman during the January transfer window, and the 25-year-old had been linked with a move to Villa Park once again with his current deal with Brentford set to expire this summer.

Barbet has revealed that talks over a new contract with the Bees have begun, however, and the defender expects his future to be resolved within the “next few weeks.”
We talk with the club but we don’t know yet. We’ve been talking but there is nothing at the moment. So we will see in the next few weeks.
