Aston Villa made it six wins from six on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 3-1 win against Steve Bruce’s Sheffield Wednesday.
Bruce’s side were probably, if we are being perfectly honest, the better team in the second-half, but Smith’s men just had that bit of fortune that has so often neglected them this season.
This win has given Villa a three point cushion over Derby in 6th place, but The Rams still have a game in hand.
Next up for Smith’s men is an away trip to The New York Stadium on Wednesday evening to face Rotherham.
Many will think that this should be an easy win for Villa, but Rotherham are in a relegation battle and are fighting for their lives.
They beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 last time out, so Villa cannot afford to show any complacency at all.
