Aston Villa continued their fine form in the Championship with an impressive victory over playoff rivals Bristol City.
Tammy Abraham scored from the penalty spot to give Dean Smith’s side the lead 10 minutes into the second half, before Conor Hourihane doubled the home side’s advantage.
Famara Diedhiou pulled one back for the visitors with 15 minutes remaining but Villa held on for their eighth successive Championship victory.
Smith’s side are now fifth in the league, five points clear of Middlesbrough, who are one place outside the playoff positions.
