We have reached the end of the league season and Villa’s final game is against Norwich City at Villa Park.
Although Villa are guaranteed to finish in 5th place (something that looked unlikely two or three months ago) and Norwich are guaranteed automatic promotion to the Premier League, this definitely won’t be a dead rubber as Norwich know that a draw will see them crowned as league winners.
On the other hand, if Villa were able to beat Norwich, who, to their credit, have been fantastic all season, they will go into the play-offs with a huge confidence boost.
Many Villa fans will be hoping that Smith leaves his star players out to ensure that they don’t get injured before the play-offs, but we think Smith, due to his integrity, will field one of the strongest line-ups that he can.
