Aston Villa are set to bring in numerous fresh faces over the summer to bolster their squad for their Premier League return.
On loan stars, Tyrone Mings, Tammy Abraham and Anwar El Ghazi have all been linked over potential permanent moves after Dean Smith’s side defeated Frank Lampard’s Derby County at Wembley.
One area of the side Smith looks set to bolster is the holding midfield role, with both Glenn Whelan and Mile Jedinak approaching the end of their respective careers.
And according to the Birmingham Mail, Villa are looking at Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips.

The 23-year-old was one of the Whites’ standout performers under Marcelo Bielsa over the course of the campaign.
As a result of Phillips’ impressive season, the tough-tackling midfielder has been linked with moves to Bournemouth, Norwich and Southampton.
It appears as if Villa have entered the race to sign the youngster, which could prove to be a smart piece of business in regards to marshalling the role just in front of the back four.
