Aston Villa will consider a summer swoop for out-of-favour Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle, according to reports.
As reported by the Birmingham Mail, Villa have joined the growing list of contenders to sign the Englishman when the transfer window opens this summer.
After an impressive campaign on loan at West Brom, Gayle, who scored 24 times in the Championship, is expected to be on the move once more after the Baggies missed out on promotion.
West Brom have been priced out of a permanent deal to sign the striker, while he is also unexpected to break through back at Newcastle.

Fellow newly-promoted Norwich City have also been linked with the striker as they look to add goals to their squad in preparation for the top flight.
Villa themselves have the task of trying to replace Tammy Abraham, with the striker expected to return to Stamford Bridge this summer and push for a first-team spot at Chelsea.
