Experienced Aston Villa trio Glenn Whelan, Alan Hutton and Tommy Elphick will all be let go by the club this summer, according to the Mirror, cited by HITC.
All three are out of contract and reportedly won’t be offered new deals ahead of Villa’s return to the Premier League.
Holding midfielder Whelan made 38 appearances under Dean Smith this season, while Hutton turned out 34 times in all competitions.

Elphick made 11 appearances under Smith after being recalled by Hull City in January, before suffering an injury against Derby County in March.
All three didn’t feature in Villa’s Wembley triumph against the Rams, with Whelan the only player out of the trio to feature in the matchday squad.
Smith is likely to bring in multiple faces over the summer, and it appears as if the boyhood Villa fan will have to add to his defensive and holding midfield options following the latest reports.
