Liverpool have made an enquiry over a potential deal to sign Cardiff City star Neil Etheridge this summer, the man whom Aston Villa made an official bid for earlier this week.
According to Wales Online, Liverpool have made initial contact with Cardiff as they consider a move for the shot-stopper.
Simon Mignolet is reportedly keen to leave Liverpool this summer in search of regular game time and the Reds see Etheridge as a potential replacement for the Belgian international.

Alisson is Liverpool’s undisputed number one after picking up the Golden Glove in the Premier League and impressing in the Champions League final for the club.
Despite being relegated from the Premier League this season, Etheridge impressed between the sticks for Cardiff and put in a number of quality performances for Neil Warnock’s side.
The report claims that Liverpool are now keeping tabs on Etheridge, but have not yet made an official offer.
Aston Villa, however, are said to have already had a bid turned down by Cardiff and have been tipped to go back in with an improved offer.
