It’s being reported by Football Insider that newly-promoted Aston Villa are interested in signing Chelsea right-back Todd Kane.
In his eight-year stay at Stamford Bridge, the 25-year-old English defender has never made a league appearance for the Blues, becoming a victim of Chelsea’s loan system after being sent out on loan to eight different clubs.
It’s clear that Chelsea no longer rate the English defender but there are a few clubs that could use his services.
After enjoying a solid 2018/19 on loan at Hull City, playing in 39 of their 44 Championship games, is it time for 25-year-old Todd Kane to permanently leave Chelsea and settle down with a new club?
This move does make sense as Villa need some reinforcements in the right-back position as both Alan Hutton and Micah Richards will be leaving the club on free transfers this summer.
The 25-year-old could provide with some well-needed versatility as he can play in both full-back positions as well as defensive midfield. It would also be on a free transfer as the Blues decided against the option of renewing his contract.
