Aston Villa are set to step up their pursuit of Tyrone Mings as they look to bring the defender back to Villa Park this summer.
The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season with Villa on loan from Bournemouth, making 18 appearances and playing a big part in the upturn in form that eventually saw the club promoted to the Premier League through the playoffs.
Villa are hopeful of seeing Mings return on a permanent deal as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premier League return.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, efforts to sign the centre back will increase this week now he has returned from his end-of-season holiday.
Talks have already opened between Villa and Bournemouth but no agreement has yet been reached, but it is hoped things will progress in the coming days and weeks with Mings back in the country.
It is thought Mings wants to re-join Dean Smith’s side after his successful temporary spell, especially with opportunities at the Vitality Stadium limited for him.
The report states that the Midlands club would have preferred to have the transfer sewn up before now, meaning they are likely to try and speed negotiations up as they look to land their man before the start of pre-season training.
