Jota has recently made the move from one Birmingham to Aston Villa and it did not go down well with the supporters of the former.
According to reports cited on Sport Witness, Jota admits he is prepared to face the fans in Birmingham following the move to join their local rivals.
It is fair to say it’s a controversial move made by the Spaniard, but the opportunity to play Premier League football would no doubt have been one too good to ignore.
While speaking to media in Spain, he revealed how exactly the transfer came about, admitting his ex-boss Dean Smith got in touch with him personally and said that he wanted the two to work together again.
He then went on to talk about what he could expect from the Birmingham City fans.
It’s a very big rivalry. I guess there will be many who do not like it. Some will boo in the street; I’ll have to accept it.
But, the attacking-midfielder understands this but accepts that it is part of his job and is confident in this being a good move for him.
Our work is like that and we have to live with it as best we can.
I look out for myself and I try to make the decisions that excite me and I think they benefit me
