Hogan set to be offloaded by Villa
Ahead of a summer of many potential ins and outs at Aston Villa, the club will first look to lower the wage bill and offload forward Scott Hogan, according to The Mirror.
The Irish forward joined from Brentford in 2017 but has failed to nail down a starting place at the West Midlands club.
He has returned this summer on the back of a relatively unsuccessful loan spell at Championship club Sheffield United where the forward made 14 appearances and could only muster up two goals in that time.
Villa are prepared to sell the 27-year-old for a cut-price fee in order to quickly land a replacement ahead of a season in the top flight.
Following promotion, Hogan got a pay rise because a clause in his contract and is now believed to be earning around £40,000 a week, something the Premier League new boys are unhappy about.
Fellow striker Ross McCormack has already been given his marching orders after failing to make an impression since moving from Fulham for around £12 million just a few years ago, and he will not be the last through the exit door.
