Aston Villa will have to pay £30 million if they want to sign Kalvin Phillips this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Last season saw Villa return to the Premier League and manager Dean Smith is looking to bolster his squad this summer, in order to make a strong to life back in the top flight.
Someone who has been linked with a move to the club is Phillips, who shone for Leeds United last season in a deep-lying midfield role.
The 23-year-old was a key figure as Marcelo Bielsa’s men reached the Championship playoffs and the Yorkshire club have put a hefty price tag on his shoulders.
Southampton are also believed to be in the race to sign Philips and Villa know exactly how much would prise him away from Elland Road.
It is an amount that may make Villa look at different options, with £30 million a lot of money for someone unproven in the Premier League.
