Aston Villa are hopeful that they can confirm the signing of Matt Targett from Southampton today.
The Express reports that an announcement could be imminent, with the player reportedly undergoing a medical on Sunday ahead of a move to Villa Park.
Dean Smith’s side are not hanging around this summer and are willing to spend big in their attempt to try and secure Premier League safety at the first time of asking.

The deal in place is believed to be worth an initial £14 million, with Targett looking to leave for first-team football next season.
Targett certainly has a better chance of nailing down a regular first-team spot at Villa Park, with Ryan Bertrand very much first choice at Southampton for the time being.
He impressed while on loan at Fulham in the Championship, but Targett has never really been given a consistent opportunity to prove himself in the top flight.
