Aston Villa have learnt that they will need to spend £7.1 million if they want to sign Edouard Mendy this summer.
The Stade de Reims goalkeeper has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with fellow newly-promoted side Norwich also believed to be in the running to sign the player.
According to reports from Goal, the Ligue 1 side have named their price after Rennes had a bid rejected for the Senegal international.

They are expected to cash in on Mendy this summer following the signing of highly-rated Serbian shot-stopper Predrag Rajkovic.
Both Norwich and Aston Villa are clearly looking to add another goalkeeper to their ranks this summer and Mendy could relish the opportunity to play in the Premier League.
Tim Krul and Jed Steer have seen their positions in between the sticks questioned this summer, with both clubs preparing for life back in the top flight.
