Leeds United have opened talks with Aston Villa transfer target Kalvin Phillips over a new contract as they look to ward off interest in the midfielder.
The Championship club are looking to tie Phillips down to an extended deal to avoid the possibility of him leaving to move to the Premier League this summer.
According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay, Leeds are willing to make Phillips one of the highest paid players at the club.
