Aston Villa remain interested in signing Bristol City defender Adam Webster, following the imminent addition of Tyrone Mings.
It’s a key summer at Villa Park, with Dean Smith attempting to build a squad that can compete in the Premier League.
Going straight back to down to the Championship would be a huge blow, as Villa look to establish themselves as a top flight club again.
Mings is set to complete a £26.5 million move to Villa Park from Bournemouth, and Webster could be next, according to the Guardian.
The 24-year-old centre-back shone for Bristol City in 2018/19, making 47 appearances in all competitions.
He was also voted Bristol City’s Player of the Year last season, as they finished eighth in the Championship.
Villa believe Webster can make the step up to the Premier League, as well as Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Brentford winger Said Benrahma.
Webster is a former England Under-19 international, highlighting his pedigree.
