Manchester United will only let Axel Tuanzebe rejoin Aston Villa on loan if they land Leicester City’s Harry Maguire this summer, according to the Metro.
The 21-year-old has made a total of 35 appearances during his previous two Villa Park loan stints, helping the club to the Premier League last season with some impressive performances alongside Tyrone Mings.
Dean Smith has secured the permanent services of Mings from Bournemouth and is hoping to bring back Tuanzebe for a third Villa loan spell.
However, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will only sanction a deal if he lands Leicester’s Maguire.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the England international this summer, with Solskjaer desperate to solve United’s defensive problems ahead of the new season.
Most Villa fans will now be hoping that United can secure the services of Maguire in the coming weeks, which looks then allow Tuanzebe to reunite with Smith ahead of the new campaign.
