Brentford have reportedly received enquiries for star striker Neal Maupay, who has attracted lengthy interest from Aston Villa, according to the Evening Standard.
Maupay has been the subject of much transfer speculation over the past couple of weeks after an impressive campaign for the Bees last season – in which he scored a remarkable 25 goals.

And having seemingly singled his intent to play Premier League football, Villa have registered their interest in the young forward as they look to increase their options in attack.
Midlands rivals West Brom are also keen on Maupay, but without the lure of Premier League football, they are less likely to secure the youngster’s signature.
Fellow Premier League newcomers Sheffield United are also interested, along with West Ham and Brighton.
Brentford and Villa have already struck up transfer relations after the West London outfit agreed to let Ezri Konsa leave for Villa Park in a £12 million deal just last week, but with no financial obligations to sell this time around, Brentford have set Maupay’s asking price at an eye-watering £20 million.
Villa are by no means shy of spending such a figure on relatively unproven attacking talent, having already broken their transfer record to bring in Brazilian forward Wesley from Club Brugge, nonetheless, this transfer would present a big but potentially lucrative gamble for a player who has no Premier League experience.
