Aston Villa have today completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz from Manchester City.
The midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Girona in Spain, becomes Dean Smith’s tenth signing of the summer window, as Villa look to strengthen ahead of the Premier League season.
The deal is subject to a work permit, although it is expected to be given due to the fees involved.
Whilst at City, the Brazilian failed to gain a work permit, meaning he was sent to their affiliate club, Girona, for two seasons.
He has been capped by the Brazilian youth setup, and looks to be a talent for the future.
However, what does it mean for Aston Villa, especially after signing so many players during this transfer window?
Here, we will try and look at who are the winners and losers from the transfer deal, and also look at how the Brazilians arrival could shake up the Villa side.
