The midfielder has been ever present for Brugge since moving from Vitesse back in 2017, and has been a reported Villa target for a while.
Dean Smith has looked to improve Villa’s side this summer, with a lot of players departing Villa Park after his side clinched promotion back to the Premier League.
Veterans such as Alan Hutton departed on a free transfer, whilst various loan signings such as Tammy Abraham returned to their parent clubs.
