Aston Villa could be set to miss out on a deal for Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin, with reports claiming that he is not convinced by the club’s offer.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, via Sport Witness, Villa have made a move for Perin, but the shot-stopper has not been blown away by their proposal.
The report claims that he was poised to sign for Portuguese giants Benfica in a deal thought to be worth €15m.

Perin, however, sustained an injury over the summer and is now set to be out until late November, which scuppered a deal with Benfica.
Despite his injury, Villa are now hoping to sign him from Juventus to be their new number one next season.
If they want to snap him up, though, they are going to need to submit an improved contract offer to the Italian international to convince him to quit Juventus and join the newly-promoted side.
