Aston Villa are reportedly ready to offer Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips a lucrative deal to lure him to Villa Park before the window shuts.
That’s according to Football Insider, who claim that Villa are ready to hand the holding midfielder a £60,000-a-week wage on a five-year deal, bringing a total salary to £15.6 million.
Phillips has yet to put pen to paper on a new Whites deal despite the Yorkshire side’s best efforts, with the 23-year-old heavily linked with a move to the Midlands before the window slams shut on August 8.

The Englishman was Leeds’ standout performer last season under Marcelo Bielsa, receiving a place in the EFL Championship Team of the Year as a result.
Villa boss Dean Smith has already bolstered his holding midfield options this summer with the arrival of Douglas Luiz from Manchester City, and it appears as if the club are looking to do everything they can to bring Phillips to the club before the new season.
