Aston Villa have agreed an £8 million deal to sign Tom Heaton, according to the Telegraph.
The Premier League newcomers have already enjoyed a fruitful summer, bringing in a host of new faces.
Having been tipped to sign a new goalkeeper, a move for Heaton looks set to be completed.
The deal was agreed on Tuesday evening and the 33-year-old’s medical is due to take place in the next 48 hours.
Heaton will join from Burnley, where he has shone over the last six years, winning three caps for England along the way.
Stoke City’s Jack Butland and Cardiff City’s Neil Etheridge were both seen as options, but Heaton has ended up being Villa’s preferred choice.
He will become the club’s 12th signing of the summer, highlighting the work they have done in the transfer market.
Zimbabwe international Marvelous Nakamba is also expected to move to Villa Park in the near future.
