A move for Heaton could certainly be argued as one of the deals of the window across the whole of Europe this summer.
Villa now have an experienced Premier League shot-stopper in their ranks who knows just what it takes to be successful in the top flight.
And at just £8 million in today’s market, a move for Heaton is a great piece of business by the newly-promoted side.
The three-time England international, who looks set to be first-choice under Dean Smith, will help the newly shaped back four in front of him gel in the coming months.
Smith is still looking to bolster his squad before next Thursday’s deadline, with Club Brugge midfielder Marvelous Nakamba the next player thought to be heading through the door at Villa Park.
However, Villa fans can now relax, for the time being, knowing they have an experienced goalkeeper in their ranks ahead of the new season.
