Aston Villa will reportedly allow midfielder Birkir Bjarnason to leave the club this summer.
That’s according to the Express and Star, cited by HITC, who claim that Villa will allow the Iceland international to leave, only if they receive a ‘suitable offer’.
The 31-year-old featured 17 times last season, however, the midfielder struggled to feature in the second half of the campaign as Villa went on an impressive run which resulted in promotion.

A plethora of experienced midfielders have already left Villa Park this summer and it appears as if Bjarnason could be the latest.
Villa have brought in 12 summer signings, including central midfielders Douglas Luiz and Marvelous Nakamba, making Bjarnason’s improbable task of breaking into the side even harder.
Bjarnason doesn’t appear to be at the level needed to excel in the Premier League and is edging past his prime at the age of 31.
The European has been a good servant during his two-year stint, however, it looks as if now is the right time to move on.
