Villa’s trip to Leeds United last season was one full of controversy, and it was all picked up in the new documentary following the Yorkshire side.
Launched on Friday, the show documents Leeds’ campaign to get back into the top flight and spends a significant time showing the game against Villa at Elland Road.

One significant incident was Patrick Bamford’s dive in the game, which saw him pick up a ban.
Speaking on the documentary, Bamford said:
I made a meal of it. If he didn’t touch me, I wouldn’t have gone down.
To be fair, I didn’t go down. I knelt down holding my face and the guy pushed me, but he pushed me soft as sh**. But he still made the attempt to do it.
If you try and murder someone and don’t kill them, you still get done. It’s similar, he could’ve caught me.
It’s fair to say that these quotes haven’t gone down well with some of the Villa faithful on social media.

The doc is certainly an interesting watch for Villa fans, especially the episode focusing on the incident with Bamford.
It says a lot about a player when he doesn’t just admit that he dived and moved on with it, instead of still trying to claim innocence.

Comparing to murder is simply outlandish, and the ban could’ve even been longer.
It’s a good job the deception didn’t work, and the ban for Anwar El Ghazi was eventually rescinded after the incident was reviewed.
