Aston Villa fans are calling for French full-back Frederic Guilbert to be starting every week after a great debut performance for Villa.
The Frenchman was immense against Everton on Friday night, using his great pace and defensive play to be a huge factor in Aston Villa’s victory over the Toffees.
Several Aston Villa fans reacted to the defender’s performance on social media, with a lot of them calling for Guilbert to become the new starter at right-back for Dean Smith’s side.

Guilbert is certainly now a key man for Villa going forward, and many will be asking why he didn’t play the first two games.
He was a defensive rock, and his pace causes problems going forward and to opposition attackers.
He’s surely the new starter in defence for Dean Smith’s side, and it would be a huge shock if Elmohamady came back in anytime soon.
Guilbert is certainly on a different level to the Egyptian, and long may he remain in the first team.
