Villa fans react as John McGinn scores first international goal

John McGinn continued his good form for Aston Villa as of late for his country, by netting his first goal for Scotland against Russia last night.

McGinn gave Scotland the lead in the first half, before Russia came back to win 2-1 on the night.

The Tartan Army’s qualification hopes hang in the balance for Euro 2020, with tough fixtures coming up including hosting the world’s number one ranked side, Belgium, at Hampden Park.

Several Villa fans were delighted with McGinn’s impact for his country, and hope that he can keep it up when he returns to Aston Villa duty next week.

Rob is a huge fan of McGinn and reckons he could have a big impact going forward for both club and country.

@futurefilm1 reckons that £50 million won’t even buy one of McGinn’s feet, let alone the player.

Scott is loving McGinn’s form as of late.

Tom and Al just have to clear one important question up.

McGinn has shown a lot of his doubters wrong this season, and his goal on international duty just continues his fantastic start to the season.

The Scot will be vital if his country are to make it to Euro 2020, but it really does hang in the balance now.

It was disappointing that Scotland could not hold on against the Russians, but it was a huge test for Steve Clarke’s side.
