Tyrone Mings missed out on what would’ve been a big career milestone after the defender failed to make an appearance after being called up to the England side.
England picked up two vital wins against Bulgaria at Kosovo, but Mings failed to pick up his first cap after being left on the bench for both games.

Mings’ omission from the team was the source of much controversy from Aston Villa fans, who were confused as to why the defender wasn’t picked by Gareth Southgate.
Several also voiced their opinions on social media, with some questioning why he was even picked for the squad in the first place if he was not going to play.
@dane_swingewood wonders exactly this and thinks it was a huge waste of the player’s time.

@JACKGREALlSH reckons that Mings should’ve stayed at the Villa training ground rather than travelling with the England team.

However, @MartinVTID reckons that it was a good thing that Mings didn’t play for England.

Read Aston Villa’s Verdict
Mings not playing for England has it’s positive and negative impacts for Villa really.
Positives first, and Mings sitting on the bench means that there was no risk of him picking up an injury, which is already a huge win for Villa.
However, it would’ve been nice to see Mings play in an England shirt, especially after his recent form for his club side.
