Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe has revealed that he made the “right decision” in not moving back to Aston Villa.
The defender, who spent last season at Villa, revealed that going back to Manchester United was the best choice for his future development as a player.
Speaking to Man United’s website, Tuanzebe said:
Staying here this season was the right decision for me. I had glimpses of the first team at United when I was 19, but now I’m 21 there’s a clearer pathway of where myself, and the team, want to be.
The defender was reportedly the subject of an £8 million bid from Villa, but the offer was not accepted by Manchester United.

The defender did well at Villa, but you can see where he is coming from.
Getting into the Manchester United team would be a big deal for him, and with their recent struggles, there is a chance he is given a shot.
Despite this though, he would still do a job for Villa, wouldn’t he?
Although it would be tough to get in the team at the minute, with Tyrone Mings and Bjorn Engels doing so well.
Therefore, spending £8 million on him would not be a sound move from Villa, especially with more pressing issues at other positions.
