Aston Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland has defiantly stated that he believes his career at Aston Villa is not yet over.
Nyland, who is now very much behind in the pecking order at Villa after the signing of Tom Heaton, hasn’t appeared for the club since last December after rupturing his Achilles.
However, the goalkeeper remains confident he can get back in the Villa team after now recovering from his serious injury last year.
The Norwegian said, via the Express and Star:
I am part of everything the team does, and in a way I am part of it even though I have not been able to play yet.
It can turn fast in football. It happened in a negative sense for me last year. Injuries and such things happen quickly, so it’s all about being ready.

It is certainly good to see a player still having the fight to battle for a spot in the team.
However, is it realistic that Nyland could fight his way back into the team?
Heaton has been superb since signing from Burnley and doesn’t look at all likely to lose his spot in the side.
Therefore, surely the best deal for both parties should be for Nyland to be sold in January, also freeing up some wages for Villa to sign a striker.
